English as a Second Language Class
for Adults
Here at Urban Vision, we desire to reach the entire family, including the adults. While many of our programs focus on the children, the ESL class is specifically for adults in the community who are seeking to learn how to speak and read English better.
On Saturday mornings during the school year adult ESL students come to the building to learn invaluable vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills from a University of Akron language professor and other UA language student teachers. ESL students also learn cultural norms of life in the United States.
Recently, a class has been added on Wednesday evenings to teach the ESL students American history, politics and law so that they will be able to take and pass their citizenship test in the coming year.
