Spiritual Development

“… while bodily training is of some value, training for godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8

At Urban Vision, we believe that no change will happen in our community or in its people, without a firm foundation in Christ. We want to come alongside our neighbors holistically, starting with their spiritual needs. Though some UV programs are more Gospel-focused than others, every ministry here is Gospel-driven.

Spiritual mentorship and discipleship are woven into the fabric of our relationships, whether in the form of Bible lessons at Kids’ Club, mentoring groups as part of S.O.S., or worship dance in “In His Steps” ballet.

In addition,  North Side Open Door Church meets at Urban Vision. While all UV programs preach the Gospel, getting our participants plugged in to this multicultural, multi-generational body of believers is the best way to help them develop as spiritual disciples of Jesus Christ.  North Side Open Door Church is a reflection of our North Side community: we are all different colors; we are all from different social and economic backgrounds. We come from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. We even speak different languages. Everyone is welcome here. You don’t need to dress up or be even close to perfect. You are accepted just like you are. So come, join us this week and see what we are about. (Sunday School at 9:15; worship at 10:30. See the NSODC website for more details.)
