 About our Teen Leadership Program

Here at Urban Vision, we desire to see the next generation of young people grow into Godly leaders who will enact change in the world around them. Therefore, we focus much of our resources, and many staff and volunteer hours to mentor the children and teens who come into our ministry. The students who show a greater desire to grow as leaders are encouraged to participate in our Leadership Development program.

Originally this program was designed as a teen mentoring and leadership program, but last year we added two 5th-6th grade groups, one for boys and one for girls. Once students are in the program, they are expected to meet higher standards of behavior. They must be good examples to others around them, have good attendance, serve in some capacity, and learn how to represent Christ to the community.

The 5th-6th grade girls are called "Chayil Girls" and the focus of this group is to have adult mentors lead by example to encourage the girls to grow in their faith and understanding of following Christ and serving the community around them. They are to become the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31.

The 5th-6th grade boys are called "King's Knights". These young leaders are mentored in how to become men of God. They are taught modern day chivalry - honor, courage, purity, etc. - and are expected to work on showing these virtues in their lives.
