Volunteers are the backbone of Urban Vision. Folks are generous with their time, talents and resources and without volunteers, we couldn’t achieve our mission.
In our new series called Meet the Volunteer, we’ll take a look at a member of our volunteer Dream Team. Today’s post features Nancy Croley, a volunteer with our Set on Success Program. Let’s meet Nancy!
Hi, Nancy! Tell us how you first got involved with Urban Vision. I had known of Jodi’s ministry for over 20 years. Six and a half years ago when my youngest child was in college, I decided it was time to volunteer.
What was your first impression of Urban Vision? Welcoming, warm, loving and helpful.
What’s the best part about volunteering at Urban Vision? The kids! I truly love getting to know the children and their families.
What do you wish other people knew about Urban Vision? That Jesus Christ is truly at work at Urban Vision.
Why do you support Urban Vision as opposed to other nonprofit groups? It is a Christian ministry and because it serves the precious families of North Akron, I know firsthand what they do.
What might someone be surprised to learn about you? I grew up in North Hill! I attended Harris, Jennings and North High School. I now live in Green on one of the Portage Lakes.
What do you do when you aren’t volunteering? Boating, scrapbooking, reading, visiting my children who live out of state.
Anything else you’d like to add? Urban Vision is amazing! The programs offered continue to grow in number as does those who are reached and served. I cannot even to begin to relate how very, very much I enjoy it. I am blessed by volunteering!
Thanks so much, Nancy, for sharing. If you’d like to volunteer, we’d love to have you! Click here to get started.
