Guida Sweitzer serves as Administrative Principal, and teaches Junior High and High School. She is married to David, the chairman of our board. She and David have been with Urban Vision from the mid 90’s. Guida is a member of The Chapel in Akron. Her background involves experiences in administrative work and education. She is homeschooling her own six children successfully, two of whom had English as a second language. She has been instrumental in setting up, directing, and teaching in the CHEC and CFA Jr. and Sr. high groups. She has taught classes in and tutored English to students (other than her own children) for years. Guida wrote the Chayil discipleship program for girls, used at the Chapel, at other churches, and here at UV with our girls in our leadership classes.

Julie Doll teaches the elementary students. She is married to Tom. Julie attends Christ Community Church. She has served at S.O.S. for three years and assists in the summer programs UV offers. Julie's background is in Elementary Education, and she is a Reading Specialist. Their children attended CVCA. Julie is excited about the opportunity "to teach from a Christian perspective, instructing students to bring every idea back to the Lord." She feels that the Lord has placed her as Urban Vision for such a time as this.

Megan Gale, married to Josh, assists as needed with all grade groups, but focuses primarily on teaching the elementary kids. Her degree is in Early Childhood Education. Her experience has been with preschool to kindergarten in the classroom and older students in tutoring and mentoring. Megan has assisted UV in S.O.S., the summer programs, and the Teen Leadership program. Megan and her husband moved to the North Akron neighborhood over three years ago to assist with the North Hill Community Church plant, a partner of the UV ministry. Megan is committed to serving her neighborhood through Beacon, “never more certain of where [she is] supposed to be.”

Theodore Carroll Jr. [TJ] serves as needed, but focuses on teaching the older students. TJ, who describes himself as an “at-risk youth,” was given opportunity for success through education and discipleship at CVCA (graduated 2004), for which he feels extremely blessed. He went on to Ohio State University to earn a degree in Social Behavioral Science. He is a licensed substitute teacher, and has subbed at area Christian schools. TJ wants to “be used in the lives of those that deal with similar environmental hardships as the difficulties [he] faced as a child.” This desire led him to Urban Vision in 2009, where he currently serves as a volunteer in areas such as sports, teen programs, after school programs, and more.

Kaite Yackley [Kaite] focuses on teaching English to the high school students. Her degree is in Spanish and French with a minor in Education. She also has a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language which has given her experience teaching English in Germany and at the ESL center at Kent State University. She first got involved at Urban Vision with the summer English classes in 2008 and, though she could only volunteer from time to time, she always enjoyed coming back. She really enjoys the small class sizes at Beacon and the freedom to focus on meeting each student's needs.
