Set On Success (S.O.S.) Helpers

We meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 5:00 PM during the school year.  The S.O.S. program is focused on kids in K to 8th grades. We like a weekly commitment. Assignments could be: Homework assistance, computer lab, monitoring gym, math, and reading with the kids. Our goal is to have 15 to 20 volunteers there at all times.  Volunteers must have completed the 8th grade and be at least 14 years old.

Set On Success (S.O.S.) Homework Helpers

We meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 PM during the school year. This time is all about helping children in K through 8th grade with homework. Much of this time is spent helping with math, listening to them read or assisting with homework in other subjects.  Volunteers must have completed the 8th grade and be at least 14 years old.

Kid’s Club Helper

This is a great way to come and check out the ministry of Urban Vision and get connected to the kids and families involved.  This program takes place on Fridays from 3:45-6:15 PM during the school year.  There will be a volunteer meeting each week starting at 3:15.  Kid’s Club is for kids 4 years old to 8th grade.  We could use volunteers that would like to help with leading a team and enjoy time with the children and sharing God’s love!  This truly is a great experience!  Volunteers must be at least 12 and must have completed the 6th grade.

Cooking Meals for Programs

We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to cook and serve meals at special events.  Please contact the office for more information.

Adult English Class Helper

If you like foreign missions, we’ve got an opportunity for you without the costs to get there.  Several of our neighbors are not fluent in English and are learning it as a second language.  English classes run from 9:00-11:00AM on Saturday mornings.  We have opportunities to help in the classroom, computer lab or watching pre-K kids for parents. Please let us know if this is something you think you might enjoy.  Volunteers must be high school graduates.

Building Maintenance & Renovations

With the large facility, we also have a lot of maintenance work that will need to be done.  If you have a talent in a certain trade please let us know.  This could include: electrical, mechanical, patching walls, fixing miscellaneous things around the building, computer repairs, phone repairs, etc. Generally volunteers need to be 18 years or older.

Cleaning

We are in need of people that are willing to come and help clean.  This could be a weekly commitment or a one-time service project.  Generally volunteers are 18 years and older or supervised groups.
